Q: What is microfibre made of?
The yarn of microfibre fabric is made from very fine polyester fibres which are about a hundred times finer than human hair, even finer than silk fibres. The fabric is very tightly woven making it highly durable, resistant to dirt and easily cleaned. The high density of the fibres in the fabric provides many qualities that make microfibre the ideal material to use for bed linens, including a buttery soft feel, ease of laundering and wrinkle resistance. Additionally, microfibre is environmentally friendly, and far outweighs cotton when it comes to energy-saving.
Q: How do you care for microfibre sheets?
- Microfibre can be washed in any normal washing machine.
- Simply remove washed bedding from the machine and line dry.
- If tumble drying is used, it should only be brief, using a low heat setting.
- If ironing is desired, use a moderately warm iron and iron on reverse side.
- Generally, microfibre is extremely durable and should last a lifetime if used and cared for properly.
Q: How is microfibre good for people with asthma or allergies?
The high-density, tightly woven fabric resists penetration of common allergens. Microfibre is a superior fabric for keeping dust mites away from you.
Dust mites live in such places as comforters, pillows and mattresses. Zip-on pillow cases and covers made from tightly woven microfibre do not allow these dust mites to escape and bother the allergy sufferer. Pillow cases, quality mattress pads, fitted sheets and duvet covers made with microfibre have reduced the problems for those allergic to dust mites significantly.
Q: Is microfibre hot?
Microfibre is "thermo-neutral", making it good to use both in summer and winter.
